Location is very central, reception personnel was prompt and kind. Food and service at Hjornet bar was good and fast.
Given its price this Hotel is not up to european standard in terms of accessibility and services. Our room could only be accessed via several stairs and not diirectly at elevators level. This is very unconvenient with heavy luggage (no porter service) and when you are not very young. Amenities were partly missing (no sugar and cream) for the tea. No service/facilities list of the hotel list was available in the room.
The most beautiful hotel i Trondheim with the most excellent staff and service! The food is outstanding and recommendable. Thank you for a great stay!
Great hotel. Located in the middle of Trondheim with very easy acces to the shuttlebus. Bus to airport stops in front of the hotel. The breakfastbuffet is very good also the restaurants located in the hotel are worthwhile visiting. The staff is very friendly. Allthough we arrived in the morning we could go to our rooms before regular check-inn time, Great service.
The SPA and the restaurants are excellent!
I paied for the whole period of staying on my arrival by bank card. On the next morning I found out that nearly the same sum of money (about 4000 NOK) additionally was took from my bank account as the transaction made by Britania Hotel. Reception staff said that they have no information about this transaction in the Hotel system but my bank confirmed that it was made by the hotel. I got my money back only because of my bank efforts. Hotel did not provide any excuses..
Well preserved historic building and interiors. Fantastic Swimming pool area.
This hotel has everything. The location is wonderful and you should try their breakfast. Everyday I got different type of fresh bread. The breakfast was just fantastic. You get fresh flowers on your table, it is clean and the staff was very efficient to clean after the guests.
Good quality breakfast with nice selection and variety, well served and good seating. May be the best breakfast in Trondhjem. Charming hotel with historical atmosphere (a somewhat tired elegance), with an excellent location.
We booked parking in the hotel garage for two nights. When we arrived to park the second evening, we were let into the garage, but found no free parking spaces, despite our guaranteed booking. The staff in the reception had no understanding of why there was no available parking, and could not help us in making parking available. Fortunately, this was Saturday night, so parking on the street was free through the following Sunday. Had this been the middle of the week, we would have had to pay for this parking. There did not appear to be a routine for registering car license numbers to monitor parking. We felt that this reflected badly on the hotel and hotel routines, and was a needless inconvenience for us (second night parking was deducted from the bill).
The hotel offers an excellent combination of spacious rooms with a wonderful spa. The staff is great.
Althought the breakfast buffet was very elaborate, it wasn't really high standard food.
Old fashion. Near to everything.
Convenient location and great staff able to guide us to places we were seeking. Fine older hotel with good restaurant and some art worth a photo.
It is old and looking like it needs a rehab. The edges of everything are worn while stains are present on rugs and furniture.
Very good internet wi-fi. Very confortable room. Very good Spa and swimming poool.
The gym could have more machines to work out.
Location and helpful and professional staff.
The 1960s remodeling (which I saw in 1969 as well) continues to detract from what was once a really elegant hotel. It is definitely looking "tired" today and is need of a restoration to reflect its original period design. At those prices I wouldn't stay there again-not a special experieince.
Beautyful hotel, excellent location and very helpful staff. A hotel with a difference.
With a room with a bathtub I would expect (and wish for) a range of bath products as well, but there were none. Norwegian hotels usually don't have anything beyond basics (soap and shampoo), but Britannia is a spahotel and I would expect better.
The hotel in the main was very smart and had alot going for it in terms of the location and decor, the buffett breakfast was very good.
The price did not represent good value .considering the hotel was well short of bookings we where placed right at the back end of a long passageway in what proved to be a very noisy room ,the sound, like that of the inside of an aircraft and constant ,think we were stuck above some venterlation equipment, the bathroom floor flooded everytime you took a shower which made the floor slipperery,we also had no tea, coffee, milk, cups, jug nothing infact to make a drink,at reception we where told it depends which room you are in whether this faciality was available seems our room was not one of them,we did get some in the end but it was all very very poor service considering the price. We booked 2 nights Christmas Eve and Chrismas day night what we did not expect was to be staying in such a grand type hotel that had as much atmosphere as an mt football ground with nothing at all going on,while this may be the norm we as customers where not advised all would be closed, suggest if the hotel cant provide the full package then maybe in future, over the festive period the hotel should do the same. and close.
