prime spot for exploring trondheim’s history and culture
During my recent stay, I appreciated how close I was to the stunning Nidaros Cathedral, just a 15-minute walk away, and the delightful National Museum of Decorative Arts, which was only a few steps from the hotel. these attractions made my weekend explorations truly enjoyable.

The breakfast was unreal, with freshly baked croissants and a variety of local cheeses 😋. However, the room got really hot and lacked proper cooling. Would definitely return for that breakfast!

The Britannia Hotel impressed me with its grand, historic charm. My Superior Double Room was spacious, with a large en-suite that stayed impeccably clean throughout my stay. Staff greeted me with genuine warmth during check-in and were always quick to assist, especially in the dining area. Breakfast fed my appetite with an incredible selection, from fresh pastries to quality Norwegian salmon. The location felt perfect, just a stroll away from the city center and significant sights. However, I faced frustrating challenges with the room's automated system. At night, the lights went haywire, turning on unexpectedly. This issue persisted despite multiple calls to reception, leaving me scrambling to find a solution. Eventually, I had to resort to unscrewing bulbs to get some peace. Even though the breakfast helped ease my annoyance, better management of the automation system is essential. The experience fell short due to this failure. Still, the historical design and excellent breakfast made it somewhat enjoyable.

Impressive breakfast selection and quality.
Our stay was marred by poor staff interactions. Instead of being welcomed, the receptionist treated us like we were a nuisance. The condescending tone and lack of warmth completely soured our experience.

Nice stay, but rooms could be bigger
Had a decent experience here. Staff were super cool and let us check in early, which was awesome! The spa was a treat, totally worth the extra cash with a nice pool and saunas. The food was good, but the burger was way too salty. Room was cozy but kinda cramped. Overall, a solid trip!

It was just a well-suited match for a quick layover in Trondheim with good value for cost. The inside of the suite was clean and well made, but the breakfast room service was a letdown. Make sure to attend the communal breakfast for better food.
